With this project I wanted to find out the answer to question that has been around forever. But with all the research that went into this project I have learned that it is entirely the individuals actions and choices. With every choice that we as humans earn we are able to choose how we spend our money, whether that is on trips, houses, clothes, pets or what ever it may be. Money doesn't need to buy someones happiness but it does influence the way that can make you or others around you more happy. For example if you donate money to a homeless foundation, that will bring joy and happiness to many members of that community. If you go on a mission trip to Africa and build a well that may bring many people happiness as well. Notice how all these things bring happiness that are good things so money can be a good thing as long as it goes towards an effort that is for a common good deed. So in all, money can't buy an emotion but it can influence someones happiness as well as yours by creating good in the world.
How can someones lifestyle impact someones happiness? The way that someone chooses to spend their money is entirely up to them. But if we break it down and look at it one by one we can see how someones lifestyle choices impact their happiness. “When spending matches the buyer's personality, it appears that money can indeed buy them happiness" says Matz, Sandra. Lifestyle choices make someone the kind of person they want to be or the person they fear of being. They can give money to charity and that can bring them happiness or they can spend their money on clothes and other things and that can bring them happiness as well. It all depends on the individuals morals and lifestyle choices.
What does location have to do with someones happiness? Since traveling has become one of the most popular activities for adventure seekers, I have began to wonder why so many people that live in different areas are more happy then others. “Money can only buy happiness up to a point. But just how much you need to get to that threshold really depends on where you live” says Butler, Jason. Many that live in areas of the country that earn the most money are able to create a very nice lifestyle for themselves that ends up making them more happy. Of course, an array of other factors (for instance, the number of kids you have, the amount of debt you carry, the cost of living in your city or town) will affect how your income translates to your day-to-day happiness but in all it depends on the most common factors of where you live, your income and your lifestyle.
How does income effect someones happiness? Many wonder what income has to do with happiness. Does the amount of money you make impact your overall happiness? The answer is clearly shown in the chart above. As stated in the New York Times, “In short, this latest research suggests, wealth alone doesn’t provide any guarantee of a good life. What matters a lot more than a big income is how people spend it." People have their own way of spending their money and that all is impacted on how much they make and how much "free money" they have to spend.
